Tharbies
is not a day ticket venue. There will be no other
fishermen on the lake you book. Choose either of our
two waters and it is
yours and yours alone for the day. Enjoy the quiet
of the countryside, a serene and peaceful place for
a pleasant day on your own or with family and
friends. To ensure the tranquillity the number of
people fishing on each water is limited.
COBBLE POND is the smaller of the two and
is an ancient spring fed farm pond. Local
information tells us that it has a cobbled bottom
left over from the days when farmers ran horses in
it to cool their hooves, hence its name. It boasts a
good head of Rudd to over a pound and a variety of
Carp. No one has yet hooked the large ghost often
seen cruising the margins. Only 2 people
fishing are allowed at a modest
£45 for the day.
LONGWATER is long lake formed from two
separate farm ponds that were joined together some
years ago. It is connected to and fed by an overflow
pipe from the Cobble Pond and is also naturally fed
